Oddfellows Hotels are independently run and passionately delivered. Named after the band of misfits that was historically the Oddfellows society, we like our team to be as individual as our hotels.
Our employees are the crux of our business. They work and play hard, go more than the extra mile for our guests and understand that the only way to be great in hospitality, is to deliver with enthusiasm and panache. We like hotel experience but ultimately it’s the individual that matters.
In return, employees are looked after really well. We reward them, train them and we let them play a creative role in the way this exciting business is developing.
We’re now recruiting a Bar Manager to enhance our talented Food & Beverage team.
As one of the senior faces of the hotel you’ll have terrific presence and a genuine passion for the customer experience. Energetic, forward thinking and full of ideas, you’ll have confidence, initiative and a strong eye for detail that will inspire the team and improve performance across the department.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is five days over seven with hours that reflect the duties in a busy 24-hour operation. You will be responsible for the running of the full hotel when it’s your manager on duty shift on a Rota basis. A comprehensive knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails and service is essential. You will take full ownership of stock and beverage GP ensuring budgets are met. If you’ve got all the above, plus stamina and a great sense of humour, then we want to hear from you.
In return, we’ll offer you a fun place to work. You’ll become part of the ‘odd’ family and we’ll invest in your training and development.
Oddfellows, Chester, is a Georgian delight comprising of 18 bedrooms and 3 fully serviced apartments, only footsteps from the River Dee and on the loveliest avenue in the city. Bedrooms range from characterful attic rooms with double baths to huge duplex suites.
Events at Oddfellows are run like clockwork and delivered with style, all set in the private first floor expanse where boxing hares fight it out and the private roof terrace looks out over Chester’s chimneypots.
The Restaurant serves modern British classics with an Oddfellows twist - inside where trees grow through tables or in our Secret Garden where outdoor fires and canopies make al fresco drinking and dining an all-year-round experience.
