Welcome to Alice's Parlour PERFECTLY ODD DINING
Step through the looking glass and into a world where sense takes a nap and wonder runs the show. Right in the heart of Chester, Alice’s Parlour is a topsy-turvy escape from the ordinary – a place where the ceiling wears harlequin diamonds, roses grow straight out of the tables (yes, really), books hover mid-air as if deep in thought, and candlelight flickers from teacups that refuse to stay grounded.
From Wednesday to Sunday, our little slice of whimsy serves up delight after delightful bite. You’ll find afternoon teas stacked with curious treats, comforting Sunday Roasts that would make the White Rabbit stop fretting about time, and our wonderful Parlour Menu full of unexpected twists and tasty turns.
It’s a place where nothing is quite as it seems, and everything is exactly as it should be. So come sip, snack, and stay a while. Chester’s never been quite this peculiar, and we wouldn't dream of changing a thing.
Chester's most exciting dining space HOW IT BEGAN
At Oddfellows Chester, we wanted to create a space unlike any other in the city, a whimsical, immersive experience that extends the enchantment of our tearooms throughout the building. Alice’s Parlour is our playful homage to Alice in Wonderland, where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary. Designed by the imaginative Kelvin Glyn Lloyd-Roberts, the space invites guests to step through the looking glass into a world of harlequin floors and ceilings, towering teacup candles, and floating literature that refuses to rest.
Our choice to embrace this theme is deeply rooted in Oddfellows’ own history. Originally an Oddfellows Hall, the venue has always celebrated individuality and creativity. The whimsical spirit of Alice in Wonderland aligns perfectly with our ethos, creating a seamless blend of fantasy and heritage. By extending this theme throughout our venue, we offer guests an immersive experience that is both enchanting and uniquely Oddfellows.
